Bottoms, Tops and Saddles
Tell a bottom, a top and a saddle apart when the ground is flat.
Training slows to a stop when the gradient reaches zero. But zero only means flat. And there are three ways for ground to be flat. The bottom of a bowl. The top of a hill. And a place that is both at once.
