A Matrix Moves Space
Read a two by two matrix as a stretch, a turn, or a squash of the whole plane.
A vector is a thing. A matrix is something you do to things. Feed it a point and it hands back a different point. Feed it every point and the whole grid stretches, tilts or spins. The four numbers are not a table to memorize. They are the settings of that move.
