Two Arrows Are Enough
Say which points a set of arrows can reach, and what the dimension of that reach is.
Keep two arrows: one step right, one step up. Any place on the page is now a recipe. The point (3, 1) is three of the first plus one of the second. Negative and fractional amounts are fine. Nothing else is needed. Two arrows and a pair of numbers cover the whole page.
